Welcome for important step forward for Edinburgh trams
Paul Tetlaw, Chair of Transform Scotland, said:
"We welcome the next and vital stage in the tram project. It will take Edinburgh a step closer to those 250 towns and cities in Europe who already enjoy tramway systems."This year also sees the Climate Change Bill passing through the Scottish Parliament and we expect to see a requirement for reductions in CO2 emissions of at least 80%.It is therefore vital that we invest in modern transport systems that help to reduce emissions - the tram project is just the sort of scheme that is needed at this critical time."
